Our Founder Late Major Md. Jasim Udiin (retired) joined Pakistan Army in 1967 and got regular Commission in the Corps of Engr. in 1969.

After liberation, he was repatriated and joined Bangladesh Army and served in road construction at Chittagong Hill Tracks. He completed Civil Engineering Degree from BUET in 1982 and was appointed as Principal/Chief Instructor of Army Engineering College. During Marshal Law, he was the Chairman of Marshal Law Court Pabna and Shirajgonj. And also appointed as Chairman, Special Tribunal.

In 1984 he went on voluntary retirement as Major. After his retirement, he joined politics and was elected Upozilla Chairman of Gazaria, Munshigonj. At the same time, he organized his own construction firm namely “Maradona Construction” and got enlisted in Military Engineering Services (MES) and constructed CT Scan, Cancer Treatment Hospital, ENT & EYE Hospital, different High Rise Residential Apartment Buildings in Dhaka Cantonment.

In 1986, he started a manufacturing business entity, namely M/S. Meghna Packaging (100% export oriented industry), that is currently located at own land in 23/4, Kuniapra, Tejgaon Industrial Area, Dhaka-1208, Bangladesh. It is one of the well reputed accessories company in Bangladesh, manufacturing corrugated carton, poly, woven label and other accessories.

In 1994 he constructed a big Cold Storage (Capacity 10,000 MT) under the name of “Meghna Multipurpose Himagar Ltd’’ an agro-based industry on his own land to preserve all types of potatoes (seed, table, processing industrial and export potatoes). This company is situated on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway and about 40 km away from Capital City of Dhaka. Prior to that, he also established his own brick field named “Meghna Bricks Ltd” in Gazaria Upozila. He was a successful businessman and during his lifetime he contributed to country’s economy & socio-economic condition of his locality through Business, Politics and social work.
